On June 2, 2009, Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. issued a press release announcing that it presented at the Digestive Disease Week annual meeting, being held this week in Chicago, Illinois, data that demonstrated APRISO 0.375g extended-release capsules had a favorable safety profile in patients in remission from ulcerative colitis for up to 24 months. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
