On May 19, 2009, Richard E. Blaney notified MGE Energy, Inc., and Madison Gas and Electric Company that he is retiring from their respective board of directors effective May 19, 2009. Mr. Blaney's resignation coincides with the mandatory retirement age of the boards of directors.
