On May 21, 2009, Polypore International, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Celgard, LLC, issued a press release announcing Celgard's submission of an application for grant funding under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Electric Drive Vehicle Battery and Component Manufacturing Initiative (DE-FOA0000026).
