(b) On May 21, 2009, Benchmark Electronics, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release announcing the appointment of Cary T. Fu as Chairman of the Board of Directors effective May 20, 2009. Mr. Fu succeeds outgoing Chairman Donald E. Nigbor who has retired. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
