Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure

On April 16, 2009, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that it has elected to curtail approximately 400 million cubic feet (mmcf) per day of its gross natural gas production due to continued low wellhead prices. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report.



Item 8.01 Other Events.

On April 15, 2009, Chesapeake Energy Corporation issued a press release announcing the date that it will issue its 2009 first quarter financial and operational results. The press release also provided information for accessing the related conference call. A copy of this press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
