On April 16, 2009, PECO Energy Company's (PECO) plan to purchase electricity at competitive market prices for customers and provide $7 million in additional energy efficiency assistance to low-income customers was approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. The plan is part of PECO's comprehensive effort to minimize the impact of the end of rate caps on its customers.
