Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On April 7, 2009, Michael A. Elia advised Sovran Self Storage, Inc. (the
"Company") that he will not be standing for re-election for an additional
term as director of the Company at the 2009 Annual Meeting of Shareholders of
the Company to be held on May 21, 2009. Mr. Elia has indicated that his decision
not to stand for re-election is for personal reasons and that his decision does
not arise from any disagreement on any matter relating to the Company's
operations, policies or practices, nor regarding the general direction of the
Company.
