APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN OFFICERS; COMPENSATORY ARRANGEMENTS OF CERTAIN OFFICERS On April 2, 2009, Richard Meelia tendered his resignation from the Board of Directors with immediate effect. Mr. Meelia was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005 and was serving a term that expired in 2011. Mr. Meelia is Chairman, President and CEO of Covidien Ltd., a global healthcare products company. He is resigning from Haemonetics' Board in order to spend more professional time on Covidien's operations.
