Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On April 7, 2009, Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. appointed J. Michael Daniel as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Daniel joined the Company in December 2006 as a consultant and was appointed the Corporate Controller in March 2007. Prior to joining the Company, he was with the international bedding manufacturer, Sealy, Inc., from 1998 through 2006 where he was the Director of Corporate Accounting and Financial Controls. He also worked for the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young from 1985 to 1998 rising to the level of Senior Manager. Mr. Daniel graduated from Appalachian State University with a double major in Accounting and Information Systems. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
