(b) On April 6, 2009, Gregory L. Cauthen notified Transocean Ltd. (the
"Company") of his intention to retire as Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of the Company. It is expected that Mr. Cauthen's departure
from the Company will occur by September 30, 2009, subject to the Company's
identification of, and the completion of arrangements with, a replacement for
Mr. Cauthen.
