On March 11, 2009, the Board of Directors of Employers Mutual Casualty Company, the parent company of the Registrant, approved the 2009 compensation arrangements for executive officers. This action was recommended by Employers Mutual's Senior Executive Compensation and Stock Option Committee and had previously been approved by the Registrant's Compensation Committee.

Following are the 2009 base salaries for the Named Executive Officers of the Registrant. The 2009 base salaries are retroactive to January 1, 2009.
