(b) On March 5, 2009, Mr. Gary W. Deems and Mr. David S. Williams, both
directors of PacWest Bancorp, notified the Company that they intend to retire
from service on the Company's board of directors effective on the date of the
Company's 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, currently scheduled for May 12,
2009. Mr. Williams is a founding director of the Company, having served on the
Company's board of directors since its formation in 2000. Mr. Deems began his
service on the board of directors in October 2006, following the Company's
acquisition of Community Bancorp, Inc.
