Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On February 25, 2009, the Board of Directors ("Board") of Nara Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company"), the holding company of Nara Bank (the "Bank"), elected Dr. Chong-Moon Lee, the former Chairman of the Board of the Company and the Bank, as the Chairman of the Board of the Company and as a new independent director of the Bank, effective immediately.

For his services as Chairman and director, Dr. Lee will receive compensation under the Company and the Bank's standard director compensation arrangement.

Dr. Lee will serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the Company.
