On February 24, 2009, Carolyn M. Sparks gave notice to the Board of Directors that she would retire as a director of Southwest Gas Corporation (the "Company") effective May 7, 2009, the end of her current term. Mrs. Sparks has been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 1988 and is currently serving on the Compensation Committee and Pension Plan Investment Committee.
