(b) On February 24, 2009, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (the
"Company") and named executive officer Thomas Marra determined to enter into a
mutually agreed separation whereby Mr. Marra will retire, and his role as an
executive officer and employee of the Company will terminate, effective July 3,
2009; and his role as a member of the Company's Board of Directors terminated
effective immediately.
