This Amendment No. 1 on Form 8-K/A amends the Current Report on Form 8-K furnished by Forest Laboratories, Inc. (the "Company") on February 20, 2009 (the "Original Form 8-K"). The Company is furnishing this Form 8-K/A to amend and replace Exhibit 100 to the Original Form 8-K. Due to a filing error, the Original Form 8-K inadvertently omitted a recently required Taxonomy Extension Definition Linkbase Document. This document is included in Form 8-K/A.

The Company is participating in the Securities and Exchange Commission's XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) voluntary filing program.
