Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Ms. Wendy L. Carlson informed West Bancorporation, Inc. on February 19, 2009,
that she does not intend to stand for re-election to its Board of Directors due
to the increased demands on her time associated with her new role as Chief
Executive Officer and President of American Equity Investment Life Holding
Company. Ms. Carlson has been a member of the West Bancorporation Board of
Directors since 2007.
