Appointment of Principal Officer.
On November 17, 2008, Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (the "Company") filed a
current report on Form 8-K announcing the appointment of Venkatraman (Thyagi)
Thyagarajan to the Board of Directors as of November 14, 2008. The Company
hereby amends the foregoing to report that effective February 10, 2009, Mr.
Thyagarajan was appointed to the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee
of the Board.
