(b) Director Retirement.
Mr. James D. Robinson, III will retire from the Board of Directors of Novell,
Inc. ("Novell") at the end of his current term, in accordance with Novell's
retirement policy, as set forth in Novell's Statement on Corporate Governance.
Mr. Robinson will not stand for re-election at the 2009 annual meeting of
stockholders and his retirement will be effective on that date.
