On January 27, 2009, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release providing an operational and financial update. A copy of this press release is attached to this Current Report as Exhibit 99.1.

Item 8.01 Other Events.

On January 22, 2009, the Company issued a press release announcing that Chesapeake has once again been named as one of FORTUNE magazine's 100 best companies to work for in the U.S. A copy of this press release is attached to this Current Report as Exhibit 99.2.

On January 27, 2009, the Company issued a press release announcing a public offering of $500 million of senior notes due 2015. A copy of this press release is attached to this Current Report as Exhibit 99.3.
