ITEM 8.01. Other Events
The Student Loan Corporation (SLC) announced that it is targeting release of its
results of operations for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2008 by the
end of next week. SLC has not yet finalized its results because the index to be
used to determine special allowance payments on federally guaranteed student
loans was just published by the Department of Education today.
Separately, earlier today Citigroup Inc. (Citi), which indirectly owns 80% of
the outstanding common stock of SLC, announced that it is realigning Citi into
two distinct businesses: Citicorp and Citi Holdings. SLC has been advised by
Citi that it will report SLC as part of its Citi Holdings organization.
