Officers.
Anthony F. Markel, Vice Chairman of Markel Corporation, has moved from full-time
to part-time employment status effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Markel will
continue to focus on corporate strategy and special projects.
Changes are being made to Mr. Markel's employment arrangements to reflect the
shift to part-time status, including a reduction of his base salary to $150,000
annually.
