On January 5, 2009, Community Health Systems, Inc. (the "Company") issued a
press release announcing that certain of its subsidiaries had reached a
settlement in principle with Texas Health Resources regarding the disposition of
the Company's subsidiaries' interest in Presbyterian Hospital of Denton, located
in Denton, Texas.
The information furnished pursuant to this Item 7.01, including Exhibit 99.1,
shall not be deemed "filed" for purposes of Section 18 of the Securities
Exchange Act of 1934 (the "Exchange Act") or otherwise subject to the
liabilities under that Section and shall not be deemed to be incorporated by
reference into any filing of the Company under the Securities Act of 1933 or the
