Ameritrans Capital Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release to the news media announcing the Company's declaration of a dividend for its 9 3/8% Cumulative Participating Redeemable Preferred Stock for the period October 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 for all shareholders of record as of December 31, 2008.
