ITEM 8.01 OTHER EVENTS.

On December 16, 2008, River Valley Bancorp issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors had declared a cash dividend of $0.21 per common share for the quarter ending December 31, 2008. The dividend is payable January 16, 2009, to shareholders of record on December 31, 2008. The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
