On December 2, 2008, Northeast Community Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that the Company decided not to apply for participation in the U.S. Treasury Department's Capital Purchase Program, which is a part of the broader Troubled Assets Relief Program ("TARP").
