On December 2, 2008, Syntel, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing: (1) the declaration by the Board of Directors of a special cash dividend of $0.50 per share, payable on December 26, 2008, to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 12, 2008, and (2) the declaration of a fourth quarter dividend of $0.06 per share payable on January 14, 2009, to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 31, 2008.
