On November 21, 2008, Eagle Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") announced that it had received preliminary approval to participate in the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Capital Purchase Program. Under the Capital Purchase Program the Company is eligible to sell up to $38,235,000 of preferred stock to the Treasury, and issue related warrants to purchase up to approximately $5,735,250 of the Company's common stock. The press release announcing the receipt of preliminary approval for participation in the Capital Purchase Program is included as Exhibit 99 to this report.
