On November 17, 2008, Alexander F. Stern was named Chief Operating Officer of
Lazard Ltd and Lazard Group LLC. Mr. Stern, age 42, has served as a Managing
Director of Lazard since January 2002 and as the Firm's Global Head of Strategy
since February 2006. Mr. Stern previously served as a Vice President from
January 1998 to December 2000 and as a Director from January 2001 to December
2001. Mr. Stern initially joined Lazard in 1994.
