On November 12, 2008, Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. ("Alpha") issued a press release announcing that two leading independent proxy advisory firms, RiskMetrics Group - ISS Governance Services and Glass Lewis, have recommended that the Alpha stockholders vote in favor of the adoption of the merger agreement with Cliffs Natural Resources Inc.
