On October 30, 2008, SCM Microsystems, Inc. (the "Company") sold at auction certain non-core patents that are unrelated to the Company's current business. The Company will receive net proceeds of $1.4 million from the sale of these patents, which will be included in the Company's financial results for the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2008.
