Item 8.01. Other Events.
On November 4, 2008, Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGNX) announced the selection of a proprietary small-molecule drug candidate for clinical development as a treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The candidate, designated PRO 206, is an orally available viral-entry inhibitor, designed to prevent HCV from entering and infecting healthy liver cells.

A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and the information contained therein is incorporated by reference into this Item 8.01 of this Current Report on Form 8-K.
