On October 30, 2008, Monarch Community Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") reported
that William C. Kurtz, the Company's Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer has announced his resignation to be effective November 14,
2008. Mr. Kurtz has accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer of Olivet
College in Olivet, Michigan.
