On August 15, 2008, Cadence Design Systems, Inc. ("Cadence") issued a press release announcing the withdrawal of its proposal to acquire Mentor Graphics Corporation. Cadence also announced that its Board of Directors has expanded Cadence's authorized share repurchase program by up to an additional $500 million.
