On January 28, 2008, Celgene Corporation and Pharmion Corporation announced that the Bundeskartellamt, Germany's Federal Cartel Office in charge of reviewing the antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions, has cleared Celgene's pending acquisition of Pharmion Corporation.
