It operates in four segments: Printed Circuit Materials, High Performance Foams, Custom Electrical Components, and Other Polymer Products. The Printed Circuit Materials segment offers rigid printed circuit board laminates that are used for making circuitry for cellular communications, digital cellular communications, paging, direct broadcast television, global positioning, mobile radio communications, and radars. This segment also offers flexible circuit materials used to make interconnections in cell phones, handheld and laptop computers, and hard disk drives. The High Performance Foams segment offers urethane foams used for making high performance gaskets and seals in vehicles, portable communications devices, and computers and peripherals; cushion insole materials for footwear products; healthcare and medical materials for body cushioning and orthotic appliances; silicone foams used for making flame retardant gaskets and seals in communications infrastructure equipment, aircraft, trains, cars, and trucks, as well as for shielding extreme temperature or flame; and compressible printing plate backing and mounting products. The Custom Electrical Components segment provides power distribution components, and electroluminescent lamps and inverters. The Other Polymer Products segment manufactures elastomer component products, which include floats, and rollers and belts; non woven composite materials; and polyester-based industrial laminates. The company primarily serves portable communications, communications infrastructure, consumer electronics, healthcare, microprocessors, mass transit, automotive, aerospace and defense, and alternative energy markets.
