The Telecommunications Services segment operates in cable television business, which includes video, high-speed data, and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), as well as provides commercial telephone and high-speed data services. The Rainbow segment consists of its interests in national programming services, regional programming businesses, regional sports and news network business, and local advertising sales representation business. The Madison Square Garden segment owns and operates professional sports teams, including the Madison Square Garden Arena and the adjoining WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden; the New York Knickerbockers basketball team; the New York Rangers hockey team; the New York Liberty women’s basketball team; the Hartford Wolf Pack hockey team; regional sports programming networks, such as Madison Square Garden Network and Fox Sports Net New York; and MSG Entertainment, which operates Radio City Music Hall, as well as the Beacon Theatre in New York city and the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The company also operates 49 motion picture theaters containing 252 screens in the New York metropolitan area; and markets a real time video insertion system that places computer generated electronic images into telecasts of sporting events and other programming.
