The Equipment segment designs, manufactures, and markets magnetic media sputtering equipment, including 200 Lean disk sputtering systems; and Intevac AccuLuber and Intevac DLS-100 disk lubrication systems to the hard disk drive industry, as well as Lean Etc, an etch semiconductor manufacturing system to the semiconductor industry. It sells products through direct sales force and distributors. The Imaging Instrumentation segment provides digital-optical products for the capture and display of low-light images and the optical analysis of materials, including sensors, cameras, and systems for commercial applications in the inspection, medical, scientific, and security industries; and for government applications, such as night vision and long-range target identification. Its products include near infrared cameras, near-eye display systems, low-light cameras, night vision rifle sights, head mounted night vision systems, long-range target identification, and intensified photodiodes, as well as products for military applications. This segment sells products through its direct sales force, system integrators, distributors, and resellers. It also provides installation, maintenance, and repair services, as well as technology upgrades, spare parts, and consumables. The company was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California with additional offices in the United States, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. |
