| Newpark Resources, Inc. provides integrated fluids management, environmental, and oilfield services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry. It operates in three segments: Fluids Systems & Engineering, Mat & Integrated Services, and Environmental Services. The Fluids Systems & Engineering segment offers drilling fluids systems and engineering services, as well as onsite drilling fluids management services. The Mat & Integrated Services segment provides prefabricated interlocking mat systems for constructing drilling and work sites. This segment also offers onsite and offsite environmental services, including site assessment, pit design, construction and drilling waste management, and regulatory compliance services. In addition, this segment provides temporary work site services to the pipeline, electrical utility, and highway construction industries. The Environmental Services segment offers disposal services for both oilfield exploration and production waste, and exploration and production waste contaminated with naturally occurring radioactive material. The company provides its products and services to major and independent oil and gas exploration and production companies primarily in the United States Gulf Coast, West Texas, the United States Mid-continent, the United States Rocky Mountains, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and areas of Europe and North Africa surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.
