FMC Corporation, a diversified chemical company, provides solutions, applications, and products for agricultural, consumer, and industrial markets. It operates in three segments: FMC Agricultural Solutions, FMC Health and Nutrition, and FMC Minerals. The FMC Agricultural Solutions segment develops, markets, and sells crop protection chemicals, including insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Its insecticides are used to protect various crops, including cotton, sugarcane, rice, corn, soybeans, cereals, fruits, and vegetables from insects, as well as for non-agricultural applications, including pest control for home, garden, and other specialty markets. This segment’s herbicides are used to protect crops from weed growth, as well as for non-agricultural applications, such as turf and roadsides; and fungicides are used to protect fruits and vegetables crops from fungal disease. The FMC Health and Nutrition segment offers microcrystalline cellulose for use in drug dry tablet binder and disintegrant, and food ingredients; carrageenan for use in food ingredients for thickening and stabilizing, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical encapsulates; alginates for food ingredient, pharmaceutical excipient, healthcare, and industrial uses; natural colorants for use in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics; pectin for use in food ingredients for texture and stabilizing; and Omega-3 EPA/DHA for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical uses. The FMC Minerals segment manufactures a range of inorganic materials, including soda ash and lithium. Its soda ash is used in glass, chemicals, and detergents; and lithium is used in batteries, polymers, pharmaceuticals, greases and lubricants, glass and ceramics, energy storage, and other industrial uses. The company operates in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific. FMC Corporation was founded in 1884 and is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
