The company operates in two segments, Electrical and Power. The Electrical segment provides various wiring device products, electrical products, lighting fixtures and controls, and other electrical equipment for use in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities by electrical contractors, maintenance personnel, electricians, and telecommunications companies. It also manufactures various high voltage test and measurement equipment, industrial controls, and communication systems for use in the non-residential and industrial markets, as well as in the oil and gas and mining industries. This segment markets its products through electrical and industrial distributors, home centers, retail and hardware outlets, and lighting showrooms; special application products through wholesale distributors to contractors, industrial customers, and original equipment manufacturers; and high voltage products directly to customers through its sales engineers. The Power segment provides various electrical transmission and distribution products; line construction materials, including power-installed foundation systems and earth anchors; and pole line hardware products comprising galvanized steel fixtures and extruded plastic materials. It also offers construction tools and accessories for building overhead and underground power and telephone lines; and helical and resistance piering products. This segment markets its products to distributors and directly to electric utility, industrial, construction, and engineering firms, as well as to mining operations.
