It also holds license and collaboration agreements with Medtronic, Inc. to develop therapeutic products for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders; with Kyowa Hakko for the development and commercialization of ALN-RSV01; with Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to develop and commercialize therapeutic products for the treatment of RSV; and with F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. to develop and commercialize therapeutics in the areas of oncology, respiratory, metabolic, and liver diseases. The company’s joint venture, Regulus Therapeutics LLC, focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialization of microRNA therapeutic that targets miR-122 for the treatment of hepatitis C virus infection. In addition, it grants its intellectual property rights licenses to biotechnology companies for the development and commercialization of RNAi therapeutics; and to research companies that commercialize RNAi reagents or services under its research product licenses. The company was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
