(NYSE:AME) Ametek, Inc. manufactures and markets electronic instruments and electromechanical devices in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. It operates in two segments, Electronic Instruments Group (EIG) and Electromechanical Group (EMG). The EIG segment manufactures various instruments for testing, monitoring, and calibration, which include aerospace engine sensors, heavy-vehicle instrument panels, analytical instrumentation, level measurement products, power instruments, and pressure gauges for the process, aerospace, industrial, and power markets. This segment also offers instrumentation for various electronic applications used in transportation industries, including aircraft cockpit instruments and displays and airborne electronics systems, as well as include pressure, temperature, flow, and liquid-level sensors; analytical instrumentation for the laboratory and research markets; instruments for food service equipment measurement and monitoring; instrumentation for process industries; instruments and instrument panels for heavy trucks, and heavy construction and agricultural vehicles; measurement instrumentation; and thermoplastic compounds for automotive, appliance, and telecommunications applications. The EMG segment produces motors, blowers, fans, heat exchangers, connectors, and other electromechanical products or systems for commercial and military aerospace applications, as well as for defense, medical equipment, business machines and computers, and other power or industrial applications. This segment also produces materials, interconnects, and packaging products, such as stainless steel and nickel clad alloys; stainless steel, cobalt, and nickel alloy powders; specialty shaped and electronic wire; metal strip; and metal matrix composites used in electronic thermal management. EMG also supplies moisture-proof connectors, terminals, and headers. The company was incorporated in 1930 and is based in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
