(AMEX:HEV) Other Calls  Ener1, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the development and marketing of Lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, and nanotechnology-related manufacturing processes and materials. It operates in three segments: Battery, Fuel Cell, and Nanotechnology. The Battery segment develops and markets Li-ion batteries and battery packs for hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, electric vehicles, and other markets, such as non-automotive transportation and military markets. The Fuel Cell segment produces fuel cell products and provides fuel cell related technical services. The nanotechnology segment focuses on the research and development its vapor deposition and solidification and high pressure vapor deposition solidification processes. These processes have applications in thin batteries and for corrosive-proof, metal-ceramic composite, heat resisting, heat-resistant, wear-proof, and other coatings for battery and non-battery applications. Ener1’s customers include auto, truck, and bus manufacturers and their tier one suppliers, and departments of the U.S. government. The company was founded in 1985. It was formerly known as Boca Research, Inc. and changed its name to Ener1, Inc. in 2002. The company is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
