It operates a fleet of multipurpose tweendeckers, and handysize and handymax bulk carriers that carry steel products, metal concentrates, fertilizer, salt, sugar, grain, chemicals, industrial goods, aggregates, and general cargo. The company also provides short and long-term time charters, which offer its customers an alternative means to contract for ocean transportation of cargoes and make the carrying capacity of entire vessels available to its customers. In addition, it provides frequent regularly scheduled voyages in its network, as well as cargo scheduling, loading, and discharge for its customers. TBS operates its business around trade routes between Latin America and Japan, and South Korea and China, as well as ports in North America, Africa, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. As of December 31, 2007, its fleet consisted of 36 vessels, which include 34 company-owned ships and 2 company-chartered ships.
