It offers OcuLight family of ophthalmic products, such as infrared photocoagulator consoles; solid state and semiconductor-based visible photocoagulator consoles; and combined infrared/visible photocoagulator laser delivery systems for retinal photocoagulation and glaucoma procedures. The company also provides ophthalmic delivery devices, such as laser indirect ophthalmoscopes to treat peripheral retinal disorders; slit lamp adapters to diagnose and treat retinal diseases and glaucoma; operating microscope adapters for diagnosis and laser treatment procedures; various products to treat retinal endophotocoagulation, retinal tears and breaks, as well glaucoma, such as in replacing cyclocryotherapy or freezing of the eye. Its aesthetics products also include combination infrared/visible wavelength laser consoles for recalcitrant vascular lesions; visible consoles for applications ranging from vascular and pigmented lesions to acne; infrared console systems to treat various cleared applications; and laser systems for skin resurfacing, and wrinkles and moderate sun damage. Further, it offers various hand pieces to treat telangictasias and blue veins; small cutaneous surface lesions; vascular and pigmented skin lesions; and to treat vascular, pigmented cutaneous skin lesions, and small area hair reduction. IRIDEX offers its products to ophthalmologists specializing in retina, glaucoma, and pediatrics; dermatologists; plastic surgeons; research and teaching hospitals; government installations; surgical centers; and hospitals through direct sales force and distributors. The company was founded in 1989 as IRIS Medical Instruments, Inc. and changed its name to IRIDEX Corporation in 1995. IRIDEX is headquartered in Mountain View, California.
