It operates through four segments: Banking Services; Brokerage Services; Insurance Services; and Lending Services. The Banking Services segment offers transaction account and time deposit products, as well as provides lending products, such as small business loans, commercial real estate loans, residential mortgage loans, and consumer loans primarily in Phillips and Johnson counties in Kansas. The Brokerage Services segment provides insurance brokerage services on a wholesale basis. It offers property and casualty insurance, and life insurance policies. The Insurance Services segment sells life insurance and annuity products in the Midwest, as well as brokers’ life, health, disability, and annuity products of unrelated insurance companies. This segment also operates as a franchisor of property and casualty insurance agencies. The Lending Services segment provides lending services to retail insurance agencies and managing general agencies, which engage in the sale of insurance products. This segment also loans money to funeral home owners. Brooke Corporation was founded in 1986. It was formerly known as Brooke Financial Services, Inc. and later changed its name to Brooke Corporation. The company is based in Overland Park, Kansas.
