It is also developing AP24534, an investigational pan BCR-ABL inhibitor, which is in Phase I clinical trial for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, and other hematologic cancers. In addition, the company is developing AP26113, an investigational anaplastic lymphoma kinase inhibitor, which is in the preclinical stage for the treatment of various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer, lymphoma, and neuroblastoma. Further, it has license to technology and patents related to certain NF-κB cell-signaling activity, which may be useful in treating certain diseases. Additionally, the company licenses ARGENT technology, a portfolio of cell-signaling regulation technologies to control intracellular processes with small molecules, which is useful in the development of therapeutic vaccines and gene and cell therapy products, as well as provide various tools for use in cell biology, functional genomics, and drug discovery research. ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has a collaboration agreement with Merck & Co., Inc. for the joint development and commercialization of ridaforolimus; and license agreements with Medinol Ltd. and ICON Medical Corp. to develop and commercialize stents and other medical devices to prevent restenosis or reblockage of injured vessels following interventions. The company was founded in 1991 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
