The company converts base polymers or resins into extruded plastic sheet and rollstock, thermoformed packaging, specialty film laminates, acrylic products, specialty plastic alloys, color concentrates and blended resin compounds, and injection molded and profile extruded products. It operates in three segments: Custom Sheet and Rollstock, Packaging Technologies, and Color and Specialty Compounds. The Custom Sheet and Rollstock segment manufactures plastic sheet, rollstock, laminates, and cell cast acrylic for the packaging, transportation, building and construction, recreation and leisure, electronics and appliances, signs/advertising, and aerospace markets. The Packaging Technologies segment manufactures plastic packages and rollstock primarily used in the food and consumer product markets. The Color and Specialty Compounds segment produces plastic alloys, compounds, color concentrates, and calendered film for utilization in various applications. In addition, the company manufactures various proprietary items, including thermoplastic tires and wheels for the medical, lawn and garden, refuse container, and toy markets; produces profile window frames and fencing for the building and construction markets; and manufactures and sells doors, hatches, cabinets, and windscreens to boat manufacturers. The company sells its products to original equipment manufacturers and other customers primarily through its sales force, as well as through independent sales representatives and wholesale distributors.
