(NYSE:KBR) KBR, Inc. operates as an engineering, construction, and services company supporting energy, petrochemicals, government services, and civil infrastructure sectors worldwide. It operates in six business units: Government and Infrastructure (G&I), Upstream, Services, Downstream, Technology, and Ventures. The G&I business unit provides program and project management, contingency logistics, operations and maintenance, construction management, engineering, and other services to military and civilian branches of governments and private clients. The Upstream business unit offers services for upstream projects, including liquefied natural gas, gas-to-liquids, onshore oil and gas production facilities, and offshore oil and gas production facilities. The Services business unit provides construction services, including project construction, construction management, and module and pipe fabrication services; and industrial services, which consist of routine maintenance, small capital, and turnaround services. It also offers offshore maintenance and construction services to oil and gas facilities using semisubmersible vessels. This segment serves petrochemical, refining, pulp and paper, and energy industries. The Downstream business unit provides front end engineering design, detailed engineering, EPC, EPCM, and program management services to petrochemical, refining, coal gasification, and syngas markets. The Technology business unit offers various process technologies, including value-added technologies in the coal monetization, petrochemical, refining, and syngas markets. The Ventures business unit develops and provides assistance in arranging financing for, makes equity and/or debt investments in, and participates in managing entities owning assets from projects in which one of its other business units has a direct role in engineering, construction, and/or operations and maintenance.
